Everyone in Puny Human is multi-talented, and skilled in using various game engines and development programs. We're industry professionals with experience from a variety of well-known game development studios.

  • Most Puny Humans are domestic contractors (1099-MISC) or foreign workers (W-8 BEN.)
  • Employment options are only offered based on need.
  • Puny Humans are paid hourly per task, managed with our internal Task Management system.
  • We do not pay for relocation, unless employment is offered.

Blade Symphony

+ Statistics / Tools Programmer (1)

Responsibilities:

  • Writes and tests standardized, easy-to-read and clean code for Blade Symphony statistics public website and back-end item management framework.
  • Manages interaction between product, statistics website and SteamWorks.
  • Ensures a high quality product by working with Game Programmers, attending design and programming meetings.
  • Tracks time using internal task management software.
  • Manages time effectively by task prioritization, risk assessment, and proactive problem solving.
  • Reports to Lead Producer and Lead Programmer, will need to follow all instructions given.

Requirements:

  • Intermediate knowledge of PHP, Apache and MySQL database technology.
  • Intermediate knowledge of CentOS or other RHEL based Linux distributions.
  • Comfortable with and actively use Subversion or GIT for source control/version control.
  • Ability to comprehend large, sometimes unorganized, source code.
  • Comfortable working with code written by other programmers.
  • Ability to work in a group and individually efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in written and spoken English.

Pluses:

  • Experience with the Symfony2 PHP Framework.
  • Experience with other programming languages, including Java or C++.
  • Experience with Source Engine game framework.

  • Must be comfortable working with code written by other programmers
  • Expert knowledge of the usage and configuration of Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, 2008 or 2010.
  • Ability to work in a group and individually efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in written and spoken English.

+ Character/Organic Modeling Artist (Contract)
Puny Human requires a contract character modeler for implementing future characters. This is not a fulltime position, and instead is treated as a freelance position. Rates and methods of payment and tracking are negotiable.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates character, weapon and game art by concepting, modeling, UVW mapping and texturing assets.
  • Assists in the rigging, animation and integration of art.
  • Ensures a high quality product by working with artists and art management.
  • Manages time effectively by task prioritization, risk assessment, and proactive problem solving.
  • Reports to Lead Producer and Lead Artist, will need to follow all instructions given.

Requirements:

  • Experience in one or more 3D Modeling programs such as 3D Studio Max, Autodesk Maya, Softimage XSI or Luxology Modo.
  • Expert experience with Adobe Photoshop.
  • Experience with Valve's Source Development Kit (SDK).
  • Must be comfortable with and actively use Subversion for source control/version control.
  • Must be comfortable working with art and levels by other artists or designers.
  • Ability to work in a group and individually efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in written and spoken English.

  • Must be comfortable with, or actively willing to learn and use Subversion for source control/version control.
  • Must be comfortable, or actively willing to learn to work with art and levels by other artists or designers.
  • Ability to work in a group and individually efficiently.
